About The Presenters

 

doug-cooperDoug Cooper is the author of Outside In, which has won an International Book Award for Literary Fiction, a USA Book News Award for Fiction, and an IPPY Award for Fiction. He has a BS in Mathematics Education from Miami University and an MA in American Studies from St. Louis University. Originally from Port Clinton, Ohio, he has also called St. Louis, Detroit, New York, Oslo, Norway, and Las Vegas home. The Investment Club is his debut novel. He lives in Cleveland, Ohio.

 

Steve Krampf of The SJK StyleSteve Krampf is the founder of SJK Style, a men’s style brand committed to bringing the best of European fashion to men who appreciate a modern cut and the best fabrics Italy has to offer from suits, sport jackets, outerwear and sportswear. He is the former owner of Beau Brumnmel, a New York retail institution that for fifty-five years featured the finest fabrics—Loro Piana, Vitale Barberis, Angelico, as well as Italy’s smaller mills—to create unique and original looks for formal, business, and casual occasions. Some of his prestigious clients over the years include Dan Hicks, Phil Simms, Jeff Goldblum, Regis Philbin, Tony Danza, and many leaders of industries in their respective fields.

His reputation for the use of unusual ingredient combinations, tastes and textures has led him to direct one of the most prestigious kitchens in the country. At The Culinary Vegetable Institute, he designs dishes around what is available on the farm that day, and his commitment to micro seasonal cooking opens the door for him to be more creative while respecting the plants. His dishes look astonishing, always play tricks on the senses and are constantly evolving.

Doug’s three-time award-winning novel Outside In will be available at the Tremont General Store during the Taste of Tremont on Sunday, July 10th from 12p to 8p. Doug will be at the store from 2-4 to sign books and talk about his new novel The Investment Club, available in stores on October 11 from Rare Bird Books. If you’re in Tremont for the festival, stop by and say hi and check out all the interesting things the Tremont General Store has to offer. The first twenty-five people will receive one of the official Investment Club gambling chips.IC Chips

Over the past 13 years the Taste of Tremont has quickly become one of Cleveland’s “must attend” events of the summer. This free event brings over 30,000 visitors, rain or shine, from all over the region. There will be a Beer & Wine Garden located at the North end of Professor between Literary & W 10th that will serve craft beers from Portside Distillery, Butcher & Brewer and Forest City Brewery and a variety of wines for $6.00. Rum cocktails from Spotted Owl will be $7.00. Bottled water will be $1.00. Food will be available for purchase from the amazing local vendors that have helped define Tremont as one of the best food neighborhoods in Ohio.
