The Moment You Realize You’re Not the Same Person 🙈 I was recently thinking about identity—how it feels less like a fixed portrait and more like a current that keeps moving. That idea made me think about the first time I remember really noticing that fluidity and change in myself. Not the kind of change that happens slowly in the background, but the kind that suddenly makes you realize the person you thought you were might not be the whole story. I remember moments in my life where something shifted—a new experience, a different environment, even meeting someone whose perspective challenged the assumptions I’d been carrying around for years. At the time, those moments felt uncomfortable. Almost like stepping into unfamiliar territory. But looking back, those were often the moments when I understood myself more clearly. It’s strange how that works. We spend so much energy trying to define ourselves, yet some of the clearest insights about who we are only appear when something or someone disrupts the picture we had in mind. Almost like identity reveals itself through contrast. That idea shows up again and again in the stories I’m drawn to write—people stepping into situations that force them to see themselves differently. I’m curious about your experience with this.
