Now, we focus only on the website, which provides nearly 300 book reviews a month, in addition to author-related articles, interviews, SF Bay Area book store events, and book store/library directories.
Our team reviews about 600 books each month in more than 30 categories, ranging from memoirs and biographies to science fiction and fantasy. SFBR also includes audio author interviews (Audible Authors), written interviews, a calendar of upcoming local SF author events, and whatever else catches our fancy.
For readers who want signed books and aren’t able to attend events or who just don’t want to wait for an event near them, you can buy a ticket to the virtual book signing.

Looking forward to my second trip to the Books By The Banks Festival in Cincinnati on October 15th with my new book The Investment Club. I had an amazing time last year meeting up with old friends, making some new ones, and just immersing myself in the atmosphere of this wonderful event and interacting with all the book lovers and other authors.
The 10th annual Books by the Banks Cincinnati Regional Book Festival will take place Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Duke Energy Center. This premiere event is held annually in downtown Cincinnati. The day-long festival, which is free and open to the public, features national, regional, and local authors and illustrators; book signings; panel discussions; and activities for the entire family to enjoy.

Excited to be one of forty authors to be selected for the Moveable Feast at the Heartland Fall Forum in Minneapolis at The Depot Renaissance Hotel on October 7th. In this whirlwind event, booksellers share a meal and hear directly from the authors of their forthcoming books. Every bookseller will receive a signed copy of each author’s book.
The Heartland Fall Forum is a regional trade show that supports and celebrates independent bookselling. Hosted collaboratively by the Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association and the Midwest Independent Booksellers Association, they represent 12 states and nearly 350 independent bookstores throughout the Greater Midwest, from the far reaches of North Dakota to Ohio, from Kansas to the tip of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and all states in between. Their booksellers form the backbone of literary culture throughout the Midwest.
Focus those peepers while you can because after this one you won’t be able to see straight. Celebrate the releases of The Investment Club and the paperback of Outside In by joining Doug on October 11th from 7-9 at the acclaimed Spotted Owl in Tremont for a night to remember but likely to forget.

Doug’s new releases are being published by Los Angeles-based Rare Bird Books, a PGW-distributed independent publisher of approximately twenty-five books a year in multiple formats, including print, ebook, audio, and limited edition.
The Spotted Owl is located in the old Gospel Press Building in historic Tremont. It captures the old-world cocktail culture adding modern innovation and precision while infusing plenty of timeless passion. Founder Will Hollingsworth, an Oregon native who fell in love with Cleveland during a cross-country trek, opened the 60-seat bar back in 2014 with his plate calibrated to the classics and his imagination released to explore the emerging frontier of craft cocktails. Open from 5 to close Monday through Saturday, the Spotted Owl offers a seasonal menu of punches, cobblers, coolers, fixes, shots, and specialty draft beers.
